We are Building His Kindgom!

Over the past few months, our parish leaders have been highly engaged in many conversations about the ‘charisms’ and qualities of our parish community. In so many ways, these efforts resonate with Saint Paul’s letter to the Ephesians.

These parish charisms articulate the ways we are called to live and act as a community of faith centered on Jesus Christ.

• Engage others and take an interest in them.
• Greet people with a smile and their name.
• Every contact and connection with a person is an opportunity for ministry and engagement.
• Leave the place better than you found it.
• Ask people meaningful questions about themselves.
• Always have a joyful, welcoming and positive attitude.
• Always, always, always invite, engage, and learn names.
• Attention to details (room set up, greeting, agenda, etc).
• No one should feel like a stranger, we are family at Saint Ambrose.
• Make good use of name tags and tasty food.

• See the need – fill the need!
• Make all things an act of service in the spirit of Christ.
• We are not just His hands, we are His heart!
• Together! Work together & collaborate… it takes all of us!
• Leadership is service — “we wash feet at Saint Ambrose.”
• Have mercy and give grace when mistakes are made. Ask questions when you don’t know something.
• Don’t sit back, take initiative and ownership!
• No one sits alone, feels alone, or suffers alone.
• We will serve those in need where they are at.
• Do onto others with the same spirit that you want them to do for you.

• Free to be me! Discover your gifts and use them for others!
• We don’t wait around, we invite and engage others!
• Recognize talents, compliment gifts, and foster leaders.
• There is something that everyone can do for the glory of God and the good of our community.
• Parish Ministries serve and bless one another.
• “I must decrease, so that others may increase.” Delegate yourself out of a job.
• Encourage others in all that they do.
• Transition people from member to leader…from guest to host.
• We are a growth-oriented, dynamic community. Keep the Gospel ever fresh and new.
• Always capture the contact information of those who join you for an event/meeting/program.

• We are ALIVE in Christ…filled with God’s Spirit.
• Take time to pray each day.
• Be involved in faith sharing in some way.
• In all things… prayer and scripture. Spread the Gospel.
• You can always go and grow deeper. Spiritual growth is intentional.
• Pray for each other and with each other.
• Share the name of Jesus and your witness!
• Everything centers around an inspiring Mass! Our pews will be filled if we help fill them…
• Our parish will be prayerful if we pray.
• Witness to the working of God in your life and invite/inspire others to do the same.

• See the Good. Be the Good.
• Appreciate every person for every job. Expressed gratitude and thanks is essential.
• Share your best St. Ambrose thoughts at your meetings/gatherings.
• Work and Serve with a joyful spirit. Enthusiasm and hope are contagious.
• Avoid negativity and gossip.
• Give thanks to Jesus for everything. Being at Saint Ambrose and the opportunity to minister here is a gift and blessing.
• There is always someone and some thing to be grateful for — Thank you Jesus.
• See the Light. Be the Light.
• “There is no duty more urgent than giving thanks.” (Saint Ambrose of Milan)
• End each conversation/discussion/meeting with a word of gratitude.
