40 Days For Life - Devotionals
On November 27th, the Holy Father begins the season of Advent with a solemn vigil lifting up in prayer all the children living in the womb, and calls for God’s protection for them. Throughout Advent, Catholics are encouraged to pray for unborn babies and for an end to abortion worldwide.
Prayer for Advent
God of Life,
We rejoice in the promise of Your coming.
You have sent Your Son, born in Bethlehem.
He is the Prince of Peace, and
The one in whose name all oppression shall cease.
May we welcome His coming each day
And prepare for His coming at the end of time.
May we build a culture that welcomes Him
By welcoming every child, born and unborn.
We pray through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
MEETINGS
We meet the third Tuesday of each Month in Lehner Center Small Room from 7 PM to 8 PM. Our meetings are used to plan our goals and to see if there are current events going on that need our attention.
Celebrating Adoption
November is National Adoption Month. Most people know someone who has adopted or have adopted a child of their own. But did you know there are different types of adoption?
Foster care adoption – Generally these may be older children or ones with siblings
Domestic adoptions private or through an agency. Domestic can be either Open (maintaining contact with birth family) or Closed (there is no contact with the birth family).
International adoption – you work with an agency or a lawyer to adopt a child from another country
There are so many children in the world that are awaiting adoption. In America alone, over 400,000 children are in foster care and over 100,000 are waiting to be adopted into a loving family.
Adoption is the Pro Life Alternative to Abortion. If you are facing an unexpected pregnancy or know someone who is pregnant and considering abortion please let them know about adoption as an option.
